“We’ve All Been Affected By Breast Cancer”

All of us at the WA Women Motorcycle Riders inc (WAWMR) club have been affected in one way or another by breast cancer. For some of us it’s friends… for some of us it’s close family… and for some of us it has affected us directly…

Cancer is a leading cause of death in Australia, accounting for 3 in every 10 deaths. In 2011, more than 43,700 Australians died of cancer, that’s more than 840 people dying every week.

We are on a mission to help stop the devastating effects of Cancer. We have put together this Calendar to raise money for the Breast Cancer Care WA. They are a charity that provide personalised emotional, practical and financial support and care to people affected by breast cancer.

“Women Who Ride”

Here at the WA Women Motorcycle Riders, we all share a passion for Motorcycle Riding. Our mission is to do good things for WA women riders. Subsidising rider training and safety initiatives within the community. Providing a safe social haven and networking for ladies who may range in age from 17 to 70 and the only thing they have in common is a love of motorcycles.

What we’ve done with this Calendar is coupled some beautiful bikes, with some equally beautiful, local Perth female riders. The result was better than we ever imagined!

This Calendar “Women Who Ride” includes a series of professional photos of Local, Perth-based riders with a variety of different bikes. A perfect way to jot down what’s happening in 2014!

We appreciate all the support we can get and would love to write a big fat cheque to Breast Cancer Care WA – Help us make it a reality.

Calendars are $15 each!

Buy one for yourself, or buy a few and give them as gifts.

Sneak Peek At What’s Inside

Who are WA Women Motorcycle Riders inc?

WA Women Motorcycle Riders inc (WAWMR) is a newly formed community organisation, run by female riders for female riders.

We are committed to nurturing the female riding community and promoting the sport for women. The brainchild of prominent and passionate members of the WA motorcycling community, WAWMR was started in an informal capacity in 2007 and as an organised Facebook group in 2010. The club is governed by an executive board, a general committee and, once incorporated, will consist of paying members.

To date, WAWMR has hosted many events including group rides, ladies-only track days and rider training, dinners, weekenders and maintenance courses. We have plans for heaps more adventures!

WAWMR offers a safe, friendly and unintimidating atmosphere where women can improve their riding skills, boost their confidence on the road, and work on their road craft. We welcome riders of all levels to the group: beginners, intermediate and experienced. Bringing together women with a passion for riding is our goal so if you, your partner, sister, or mother would like to join, please visit www.wawmr.org for membership details. After all, why should we let the boys have all the fun?
